Mata Technologies Inc. runs this website. This page says what happens to information about your visit, and what you send us. We have written it plainly on purpose.

What we collect, and when
Nothing, until you do something. There are no accounts on this site, no bookings, no chat widget and no cookie pop-up. Three things can send us information:
- The project request form on the Contact page. It asks for your name, your organisation, your email address, what you need and a short brief. When you press Send, the form also records the time and the address of the page you sent it from, and the type of browser you used.
- Google Analytics, a service that counts visits so we can see which pages help people. Through it we receive the pages you opened and in what order, roughly how long you stayed, your approximate location (usually the city or region, worked out from a shortened form of your internet address, which Google does not keep), the type of device, browser and operating system, and how you arrived (a search engine, a link from another site, or typed in directly).
- Email. If you write to hello@mata.ph, proposals@mata.ph or careers@mata.ph, we receive what you send.
The short film on the home page is streamed from a content delivery network (a service that stores and serves files close to you). Your browser fetches it directly, so that service sees your internet address as it would for any file on the web. It receives nothing else from us.
Why
Form and email: to answer you, to prepare a proposal, and to follow up on it. Analytics: to see which parts of this website help visitors and which do not, so we can improve it. Nothing here is used to make an automated decision about you, and there is no profiling.
Our legal basis
Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), we process what you send through the form or by email because you asked us to respond, which is consent and the steps leading to a contract (Section 12, paragraphs a and b). We process the analytics counts under our legitimate interest in running a useful website (Section 12, paragraph f), and we keep them as anonymous as the service allows.
Who else receives it
Form submissions are written to a spreadsheet in Mata’s Google Workspace account and sent by email to the team at hello@mata.ph. A copy of your submission is emailed back to the address you gave. Analytics counts are processed for us by Google LLC, which operates Google Analytics. Google is based in the United States, so that information leaves the Philippines. Our arrangement with Google requires it to protect the information and to use it only as we direct. We do not sell information about you, we do not use it for advertising, and we share it with no one else.
How long it is kept
Form submissions and emails are kept for as long as the request is open and for our normal business records after that. Detailed analytics records are kept for no longer than 14 months and then deleted automatically. Summary counts, which hold nothing that could point to a person, are kept longer so we can compare one year against another.
Cookies
Google Analytics stores a small file in your browser so that several page views can be recognised as one visit. It carries a random identifier and nothing about you. You can block or delete it in your browser settings at any time. The site will keep working, and we will simply count you as a new visitor each time. The site sets no other cookie.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you may ask what information we hold about you, have it corrected, object to how it is used, ask for a copy, or ask us to erase or block it. Write to us and we will act within a reasonable time. You may also complain to the National Privacy Commission at privacy.gov.ph.
